Welcome to the San Antonio BRAC site. BRAC stands for Base Realignment and Closure, but in San Antonio we like to say it stands for Building Relationships Around Community. This site is for assisting relocating military families, on their march to San Antonio, by providing the necessary resources for their journey. Here you will find personalized snapshots of life in San Antonio and all the reasons to Live, Work, Learn and Play here.

The San Antonio BRAC program is well underway and is the largest economic development event in the city’s history with 10,000 families moving here. Once completed, San Antonio BRAC will transform Ft. Sam Houston into a premier medical complex and the largest medical training campus in the world.

This move reinforces several sectors of the San Antonio economy, including health care, bioscience, health care education, management support, communications, intelligence, security and technology. San Antonio BRAC and parallel military organizational changes are adding thousands of jobs to the region and bringing a significant number of students to train in San Antonio each year.
